Is PolyIDE free?
Yes — free forever for individual developers, no time limit. Paid plans add team features, managed cloud workspaces, and (soon) zero-install web execution for businesses.
Do I need to install anything?
No — PolyIDE runs in your browser. Native desktop apps for macOS, Windows, and Linux are available if you prefer, and both stay in sync.
Which languages are supported?
37 and counting — Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Rust, C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, Ruby, SQL, Bash, and more, with autocomplete, running, and debugging where applicable.
Can I run code in the browser?
Today, running code and the terminal happen in the desktop app, on your own machine. Zero-install web execution (in isolated sandboxes) is coming for paid plans.
How does the AI assistant work?
Bring your own Anthropic API key (stored encrypted). It's free on every plan since it uses your key. Chat about your code, generate, explain, and refactor.
Is my code private?
Your workspaces are yours. Sensitive secrets are encrypted, traffic is HTTPS, and a self-hosted option is available. See our Privacy Policy.
Can my whole team use it?
Yes — create a company account, invite members with roles and seats, and share workspaces and database connections.
Does it work offline?
Yes — the desktop app keeps working without a connection and syncs when you're back online.
How do I cancel a paid plan?
Anytime from your account — access continues to the end of the paid period.
