Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information PolyIDE ("PolyIDE", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using PolyIDE you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account: your username, email (if provided), and a securely hashed password. Two-factor secrets, if enabled, are stored encrypted.
  • Content: the files, projects, and database connections you create in PolyIDE. Cloud-synced workspaces are stored on our servers so you can use them across devices.
  • Usage: privacy-respecting aggregate analytics (page views, feature usage, hashed visitor counts). No third-party advertising trackers.
  • Payments: subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers — only a subscription/customer reference.
  • AI assistant: if you enable it, you supply your own third-party API key (stored encrypted) and your prompts and relevant code are sent to that provider (e.g., Anthropic) to generate responses.

How we use it

  • To provide, maintain, and secure the service;
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • To provide support;
  • To improve PolyIDE and detect abuse.

Sharing

We share information only with providers needed to run PolyIDE — e.g., Stripe (payments), your chosen AI provider (only if you use the AI assistant), and our hosting/infrastructure — and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account anytime in Settings, which removes your account data. Some records may be retained for legal, tax, or security purposes.

Security

Passwords are hashed, sensitive secrets are encrypted at rest, and traffic is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data — contact us to do so.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies.

Children

PolyIDE is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll post the new date here and notify you of material changes.
